Solution to Paddy Straw Burning - A2P Energy

With the zeal to work on one of the serious State Challenge – Paddy Straw management, Sukhmeet Singh, Former Associate Director, Indian School of Business, ventured into entrepreneurial journey by founding a Bio Energy based Startup – A2P Energy and an analytics based Company – Prodigy Numbers. A2P Energy focuses to provide economic value to the farmers for straw by converting it into Value added Products especially pellets. As part of this solution, A2p is promoting entrepreneurship by working with village youths for straw collection and transportation and has engaged Aston University,UK and European Bio energy Research Institute for setting up bio-energy plants in Punjab. The Startup is also undertaking active research for developing pipeline of future products viz bio char, biofuel, high end chemicals, animal feed, particle board etc. Sukhmeet has won many national and international awards including Global Makers Challenge in Russia competing against 1180 companies from 83 countries and emerging as the top winner in Sustainable Energy. He has been also invited to UN General Assembly in New York and his work highlighted in a session on sustainable value chains. Recently he has selected as Silicon Valley Fellow representing India for Silicon Valley Trek under “Action for India.”

The Start-up Facilitation Division will strive to create knowledge intensive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Punjab.  

The objective would be to build tech innovation work force by nurturing young researchers, technologists, students, innovators, early stage start-ups to acquire entrepreneurial skills and catalyze innovation ecosystem. The synergies and partnerships would be created for aspiring community with other essential players i.e. researchers, mentors, tech providers, policy & decision makers etc. to transform their ideas into realities.
