Children’s Science Congress

The National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC), which is a flagship program of NCSTC, DST, GOI is organized every year since 1993 to provide an opportunity to children of 10-17 years to prepare short projects using scientific temperament and learning the scientific methodology for observation, collection of data, experimentation, analysis, arriving at conclusions, documentation and presenting the findings. It is organized at district, state and national levels throughout the country. PSCST is the nodal agency for organizing CSC in Punjab. 

Under CSC, PSCST organizes orientation training workshops for District Science Supervisors and Teachers of Punjab on the focal theme of CSC given by DST, Govt. of India. The District Level CSCs are organized in all 22 districts by the District Science Supervisors to select the best six projects in each district for participation in the state level CSC which is organized by PSCST during a 3-day mega event. At state level CSC, nearly five hundred and fifty students and two hundred teachers participate. Around 125 projects are presented which are evaluated by eminent evaluators and 16 projects are selected from the state to participate at the National Level Children’s Science Congress which is organized every year from 27-31 December.  

 
 
 

Around 10,000 science students and teachers per year were involved from Punjab in the Children’s Science Congress, which is one of the biggest science communication programs of the Country.
