The CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Punjab Government’s Department of Science, Technology and Environment to jointly address the issues pertaining to public health and environment under Mission Tandrust Punjab 2.0 besides working together for making the state Research and Innovation Hub under Mission Innovate Punjab.
Research and Development plays a critical role in the innovation process. It's essentially an investment in technology and future capabilities which is transformed into new products, processes, and services. Govt. of Punjab has launched ‘Mission Innovate Punjab’ to promote the state as a hub of research and innovation and to develop a robust ecosystem which will enhance competitiveness, boost growth and create jobs. As an initial step to build a conducive environment for active involvement and networking of academic institutions, young innovators & industry, an Innovation Summit is planned. Government of Punjab has launched ‘Mission Innovate Punjab’ and is drawing up an ambitious roadmap for developing a robust ecosystem for research & innovation to enhance competitiveness, boost economic growth and create employment.Department of Science & Environment has accordingly initiated steps to consolidate the facilitating environment through active involvement and networking of institutions having state-of-the-art research & innovation infrastructure.
With an objective to take up collaborative programmes for research and innovation to boost economic growth and create quality jobs, and give impetus to promote research & innovation in the state through collaborative efforts, the Punjab government and the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar on Tuesday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) is focusing on more industry-led research as part of a strategic shift aimed at improving its domestic as well as global rankings “Research, especially industry-led research, would help institutes like ours improve their ranking. As a conscious effort, we are taking up more research basis the problems shared by industry,” IITD director V Ramgopal Rao told ET.
